Physicians and Resident Guide: CME Credit Sessions

This guide has information physicians and residents can use to get started with their research.

Library CME sessions

The Health Sciences Library offers individualized CME instruction for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Offerings are listed below, and they are scheduled as requested. Each session is synchronous and will be followed up with an evaluation completed via email, a post-test completed via email one week after the session, and one additional email follow up two weeks after completion of the post-test. CME credits are awarded after the final follow up is complete. All CME sessions have been approved by Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.

At this time, all sessions will be offered via Zoom; there will not be an in-person option until PA College of Health Sciences resumes face to face operations. Once you arrange a time for a session, you will be sent a Zoom link.

Introduction to Library Services and Resources

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate how to access library resources.
  • Describe library resources and services
  • List at least one relevant subject guide (LibGuide) for library resources.

Content:

  • General overview of the library and the services and resources offered.
  • How to contact the library.
  • Website overview with an emphasis on commonly used website functions.
  • How to log in to our resources.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the difference between keywords and subject headings.
  • Explain how to access MeSH terms.
  • Identify at least two methods, other than utilizing MeSH terms, to narrow search results.

Content:

  • Overview of searching MEDLINE Complete (how to access, how to do an advanced keyword search, how to narrow search results)
  • Searching utilizing MeSH terms.
