Our most current policies and procedures related to maintaining a clean environment conducive to learning are below.
The Learning Commons and Health Sciences Library reserve the right to modify policies when necessary.
Using Other Libraries:
The Health Sciences Library has a reciprocal agreement with Franklin and Marshall College that allows in person access of the Franklin and Marshall libraries.
Addtionally, through the Library’s membership in the Associated College Libraries of Central Pennsylvania (ACLCP), PAC students, faculty, and others may visit and borrow materials from 24 other member libraries. Policies are outlined below.
Remember when visiting other libraries, PAC patrons must adhere to all policies of the hosting library.
Please contact the Health Sciences Library, or visit the ACLCP website for additional information. A listing of partner libraries is included below, or visit ACLCP's website to identify partner libraries.
ACLCP Policy Statement 0001 ~ Lending, Fines, and Lost Book Payments
If a patron with ACLCP reciprocal borrowing privileges returns materials late to the lending library, he/she may be charged for fines, according to that library's regulations. The borrower's member library is not responsible for fine payments.
If a patron with ACLCP reciprocal borrowing privileges loses, damages, or does not return a book, he/she is to be billed according to the lending library's regulations. Final billing is to be sent to the borrower's member library. The borrower's member library will pay the fee as charged by the lending library. It is then the responsibility of the borrower's member library to pursue payment from the borrower, according to that school's regulations.
Adopted by ACLCP, Spring, 1995
Confirmed by ACLCP Executive Committee, Fall 1998
It is always a good idea to contact the library that you plan to visit in advance. Individual library policies differ. Some libraries allow database or computer access, while others do not. Circulation policies and registration procedures also will vary among institutions.
