PA Forward: Health Literacy

The Learning Commons is a proud participant in the Pennsylvania Library Association's PA Forward initiative. Learn more about that initiative on this guide.

Health Literacy

Health literacy gives people the tools to take control of their mental and physical well-being.

PaLA's mission: "We envision a Pennsylvania with active citizens able to manage their own and their family's well-being, empowered to be effective partners with their healthcare providers, and living longer, more productive lives."

"Taking the Stress Out of Finals" Workshop

Help yourself de-stress before finals by reviewing tips and strategies to stay organized and productively prepare for finals. De-stressing can help make a difference in your grades and your health. Check for announcements each semester to find out when workshops are being offered.

MyHealthyLiving Workshops

The Learning Commons hosts MyHealthyLiving Workshops for Lancaster General Health employees (this includes College student employees as well as College full-and part-time faculty and staff) at various times throughout the year on various health topics. Attendance at these sessions also earns you reward points. Check for announcements throughout the year to find out when these workshops are offered.
