This year's National Library of Medicine exhibit is "Binding Wounds, Pushing Boundaries: African Americans in Civil War Medicine."
According to the National Library of Medicine, this exhibit " Their participation challenged the prescribed notions of both race and gender, and pushed the boundaries of the role of blacks in America." This exhibit "explores the stories of men and women who came from different backgrounds and life experiences, but whose desire to participate in the cause for freedom transcended class, education, and social position."
This exhibition was produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health.
The exhibit it available to everyone who visits the PA College campus to view September 16 - October 26, 2019. It will be on display in the Cooper Building outside of the entrance to the Learning Commons.
