Common Book Program at PA College: Events/Programs/Virtual Discussion

This guide provides information about the Common Read program and its events.

Common Book Discussions

Currently there are no face to face book discussions planned. You can participate in the virtual discussion below.

Virtual Discussion

You can participate in a virtual discussion using the Flipgrid program. There are three discussion questions - choose the question you want to answer or have been assigned to answer, and record a response (up to 5 minutes). All you have to do is click on the question you will respond to and then, when you're ready to respond, click on the plus sign inside the green circle to get started. Because this is intended to be a discussion, you're encouraged to watch other videos and record your responses.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

If you haven't used Flipgrid before, here is a link to its HelpCenter

Here are some things to keep in mind as you use Flipgrid.

  • When you click on the Common Book Flipgrid link, you will be asked to log in with Google or Microsoft. Please use your PA College email address and password (this is a Microsoft account). Once you log in, you must allow the program to access your camera/video to record.
  • This program works on desktop computers and on mobile devices; however, it does not work on virtual desktop machines.
  • Check your device's app store if you would like to download the Flipgrid app.
