How can the library help you?

Here is a brief overview of how the library can help you with your research and clinical decision making.

  • The library provides electronic access to numerous books, journals, and evidence-based, clinical support tools.

  • The library also provides a small collection of print journals and books. Print books may be checked out, and topics include health sciences and leadership.
    • Find print books in the library by visiting our home page and selecting "Find Library Resources in Print."

  • Electronic catalogs found on the library’s website allow you to search our print and electronic books and journals right from your computer or mobile device.
    • Find eJournals by visiting our home page and selecting "Find a Journal."
    • Find eBooks by visiting our home page and selecting "Find eBooks."

  • The library at James Street has computers with Microsoft Office applications and access to LGH applications, a black and white printer, and a scanner/copier/fax you may use. Physicians may access the library outside of regular hours; ask security for access.

  • Librarians can help you refine your search topic, develop your search terms, and navigate our databases. We have also developed a guide to help you perform your own literature searches: http://pacollege.libguides.com/literaturesearches
  • Librarians can provide individual or department training on our resources either at the library or at your location. We will gladly come to you or arrange virtual training.

  • Our interlibrary loan system allows us to order articles from other libraries for you; this can be done at no charge to you.

OpenAthens authentication to access library resources

In order to access library resources, you must create an OpenAthens account. This account allows you to access resources both on and off the LGH and PA College campuses.
