This guide provides information on the various free databases you can search through the National Library of Medicine.

Other Resources

  • ClinicalTrials.gov: ClinicalTrials.gov is a registry and results database of publicly and privately supported clinical studies of human participants conducted around the world.
     
  • MedlinePlus: Consumer health information including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, herbs, and supplements, procedures, conditions, etc. Information is provided in text, visual, and audiovisual formats.
     
  • MedlinePlus - Spanish version: Consumer health information in Spanish. Information includes prescription and over-the-counter drugs, herbs, and supplements, procedures, conditions, etc. Information is provided in text, visual, and audiovisual formats.
     
  • AIDSInfo: Resources providing the latest federally approved treatment guidelines for healthcare professionals as well as information on treatment, prevention, and research.
     
  • InformationRX: A free and easy way to refer people to trusted health resources provided by the National Library of Medicine. Also allows you to order free health information materials.
     
  • National Guidelines ClearinghouseAHRQ's National Guideline Clearinghouse is a public resource for summaries of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
